The North Coast Beaches

The north is where Ibiza keeps its wilder coastline: red cliffs, pine forest running down to the water and coves you reach on foot.

Cala Xarraca and Portinatx

Shallow, clear and forgiving for families, with a good grilled fish lunch a few steps from the sand. Arrive before noon in August.

Cala d''en Serra

A rough track and a short walk keep the numbers down. Bring shoes you do not mind ruining and stay for the light in the late afternoon.

Benirràs

Famous for its Sunday drums and the rock on the horizon. Go early, park sensibly and walk down.

Aigües Blanques

Open sea, big skies and a laid-back crowd on the east side of the north. Waves pick up when the wind turns.

Base yourself in San Juan or Sant Miquel and everything above is inside twenty minutes; see the villas in the north.
