The Beaches Worth Planning a Day Around

Ibiza has more than fifty beaches and coves, and they are not interchangeable. Wind direction, time of day and how far you are willing to drive all change the answer.

The north

Benirras for the Sunday drums and the rock in the water. Cala Xarraca and Cala Xuclar for clear, cold, quiet swimming. Portinatx if you have children with you.

The west

Cala Comte for the sunset light everybody photographs, Cala Bassa for shade and easy facilities, Cala d'Hort for the view of Es Vedra that never gets old.

The south

Ses Salines for the long sand and the beach clubs, Es Cavallet for calm water and a slower crowd, Sa Caleta for red cliffs and a late lunch.

Reach them properly
