Good to Know Before You Land in Ibiza

Ibiza rewards people who arrive prepared. The island is small, the season is short and the best of everything is booked long before the plane lands. Here is the practical groundwork.

Seasons

The season runs roughly from late April to early October. May, June and September give you warm water, quiet roads and better value. July and August are the loudest and the most expensive months, and villa minimum stays are longest then. See what is happening month by month in What's On.

Money and tipping

Spain uses the euro. Cards are accepted almost everywhere, but keep some cash for beach kiosks and taxis. Tipping is appreciated rather than expected: round up in restaurants, five to ten per cent for good service.

Villa licences

Every legal holiday rental in the Balearics carries a tourist licence number. Every villa in our book is licensed, which is why you will see a licence reference on our villas to rent. If a listing anywhere cannot show one, walk away.

Staying longer
