Boats, Ferries and the Formentera Day Trip

Formentera is close enough for lunch and different enough to feel like a second holiday.

By ferry

Fast ferries leave Ibiza Town through the day and take around half an hour. Book the return in advance in August and rent a scooter or buggy on arrival.

By charter

A boat for the day means you skip the port, anchor off Illetes and swim before lunch. Half days work; full days are better. Browse boats.

On the island

Long white beaches, a handful of famous restaurants that need booking weeks ahead, and very little else. That is the point.

Timing

Leave early, come back before the evening chop. Sunset from the water on the way home is the highlight of most people''s week.
